Ford Mustang Water Sloshing and Foor Wet “Repair for Free”

alright 2014 Ford Mustang with the customer was complaining water sloshing around and also his floor mat was wet over here is all wet on the floor I took it for a test drive and I could hear water in the right rear quarter-panel sloshing around and this was also convertible top so what we’re gonna do here is we’re gonna put her top down I have her top most way down and I came out here and looked down inside the quarter panel you can actually see I have a flashlight rating that’s underneath opening here now look way down in there inside the quarter panel itself and I found about a foot water Iactually got it all drained out now but you can see down above on a corner panel and there’s actually a foam there’s a foam body strip what your going to need to do it’s just find something to stick down in there all the way to the bottom and just poke just poke that foam strip and you’ll see the water will start coming out the bottom here right there all you started running out so I yeah they got, I mean it’s really hard to see with my phone yeah so basically what you’re gonna want to do is find something to poke down in there all I use is a pry bar and I was able to you know this stick is gonna come on the outside of this bar here all the way down to the bottom of the panel it’s gonna feel soft down there you just got to poke it few times and the water should draining out yeah so if your water sloshing around and your Ford Mustang with a convertible top that’s gonna be what you’re gonna want to check and what you’ll need to do to fix it thanks for watching flat rate mechanic

  1. I had the same issue with my 2014 convertible. I followed your instructions and the water started draining. I'd love to know what that foam is doing in there.

  2. I used marshmallow skewers held together by rubber bands. Seemed more effective to go between the two windows, but don't fuck up cus you don't want to mess with the windows.

    Great video.

    2014 mustang v6 convertible.

  3. You saved my mom a trip to the Ford Dealer. Thanks for this video, I tried it out and it worked like a charm! Also did the door drain plug thing too which is another common issue apparently

  4. Will this work for a 2003 ?
And do you do this procedure on both sides or is there just one side?

  5. Hmm. I did exactly what you did up to looking down there. I don’t see any water or any foam piece but I can hear the water and my car smells like nasty water. Any suggestions?

  6. I have a 2007 mustang convertible and I hear water slushing around in the back somewhere and all the floor boards and the trunk it soaked with water will this fix it?

  7. Was it quick or slow to drain? I'm trying with a coat hanger but it's coming out pretty slowly

  8. Hey so I’ve got the same problem with my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder. The floor on the driver side is always wet and I’ve got no idea why. Will this work for my car as well?
